Chandelier Duvaux antique gold finish
13655 €
The Met x Eichholtz presents the Chandelier Duvaux, inspired by a pair of opulent French chandeliers (ca. 1790) in The Met collection.
With an antiqued gold finish and cascading crystal pendants, our interpretation is handmade in Spain and embodies the grandeur and historical charm of this period in French design, illuminating your space with unparalleled elegance.
HISTORIC PROVENANCE
The Chandelier Duvaux echoes the grandeur of the 18th-century French artisanship exhibited in The Met’s pair of elaborate chandeliers, which feature intricate acanthus leaves, seedpods, and crystal finials. Though their frames date to the late 18th century, the earlier crystal pendants in their design indicate that they may have been worked on by the dealer Lazare Duvaux (French, ca. 1703–1758), who not only sold, shipped and installed chandeliers, but also took them apart for cleaning or repairs.

How to care for wood veneer
Veneer furniture is covered in a thin layer of real hardwood. Veneers are often used in high end furniture pieces and can be more costly than solid wood. Mid 20th century it became especially popular in interiors when teak wood was often used for Danish design furniture.
To fully enjoy your wood veneer furniture, please follow a few basic rules:
Cleaning and maintenance
Wood veneer requires gentle care to preserve the finish. Dust regularly and clean with a soft dry cloth.
Remove spills immediately as moisture can cause the veneer to peel off the surface. Prevent moisture from getting underneath the veneer by quickly and thoroughly cleaning up any spills. In case of water rings, rub the area with naphtha. Follow up with an application of oil or petroleum jelly to completely erase the mark.
