The Met x Eichholtz is presenting the Table Lamp Horus, inspired by a commanding statue (360–343 BCE) of the god Horus protecting King Nectanebo II in The Met’s Egyptian Art collection.

This lamp pays tribute to the pharaoh’s deep connection with Horus, the falcon god of kingship. HISTORIC PROVENANCE

The Table Lamp Horus draws inspiration from a sculpture of the god Horus protecting King Nectanebo II. Part of the Egyptian Art collection at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the sculpture, dating to 360–343 BCE, speaks to the pharaoh’s deep—if not merging—connection to Horus, the falcon god of kingship. Nectanebo II was even referred to as “Nectanebo-the-Falcon.” The original statue’s strong, noble form is referenced in the Table Lamp Horus in a copper-bronze finish and a beige pleated shade.
